“Help the Cause” shows how each of us can help the Afghan people and support our troops with a few minutes or a few dollars. LOS ANGELES, California – December 7, 2009. Spirit of America Press, the publishing arm of the nonprofit organization Spirit of America, today released “101 Ways to Help the Cause in Afghanistan.” The book introduces readers to specific ways Americans can help the Afghan people and support our troops. The programs profiled represent 65 different non-profit humanitarian organizations, including Spirit of America. Debary Soldier Assists Orphans in Iraq
LOS ANGELES, California—December 28, 2008—Debary native Jonathon Kissam, Army Specialist and Chaplain Assistant currently stationed in northern Iraq, has taken on the task of adopting an orphanage. Along with his supervising officer, Captain Steve Dunn, SPC Kissam has begun to seek organizations that provide items such as blankets, children’s shoes, toys, and other necessities that make life in an Iraqi orphanage a bit more bearable.
