Much Needed Items for Iraqi Orphans
Maxwell Quqa contacted Spirit of America from his station at the US Embassy in Baghdad regarding the needs of Iraqi orphans. Working closely with SICF (Sponsor Iraqi Children Foundation), Quqa has been working to provide clothing and toys to children in five different Iraqi orphanages. In his request, Quqa informs us of the following:
"We want to bring smiles to these deprived little children by meeting some of their basic needs. We also want to bring the "Foster Home" concept into Iraq by helping the Orphans and making these widows become mothers for them. We have dedicated teams supervised by one SICF employee that go to the Red Zone to visit Orphanages and hand out gifts to children."
Spirit of America sent 100 backpacks with school supplies as well as 100 beanie babies to help provide for a Christmas project that Quqa is working on for Iraqi orphans. But these children need much more than that, and with your help, we can provide them with the basic necessities we take for granted.
